I'll also side with Thorsten, although I rarely do otherwise.  There may 
be "features" in commercial software, and I normally use another 
modeler, but my renders are in POV-Ray every time, simply for the 
control over effects that it has, simply, easily, and with some 
practice, not much guesswork either.
