Yeah, it could do with more needles.

This scene is actually constructed from exactly 32,001 cones. That's all
that's in the scene! (Well, the second one has 2 spheres as well.)

The needles are randomly placed at regular intervals along the branches.
(Took a while to figure out the math to do that.)

After I posted this, I did the second image again with radiosity.
(Default settings.) It looks virtually identical, annoyingly. (I was
expecting the shaddows to be maybe slightly lighter. But then, I guess
there's nothing to reflect the light back.)

I was only going to do a few branches due to the insane number of cones
required. But I thought a small collection of lights could look good.

Getting decent glare is a problem I've been thinking about A LOT likely.
(What with it being dark on the way home and all...) I have no idea how
the real-world phenominon works! Oh well...

Anyway, my PLAN was to use this image as a Christmas card! (You might
think it's cheap to make your own rather than buy one - but I like to
think of it as being more personal than just grabbing something and
writing "hi" on it.)

Andrew.
