Short Answer: Yes.

Long Answer: Saving radiosity data (imho) is similar to used any other 
pre-stored data that are the result of a simulation, like meshes (cloth 
being draped over a box or even Gilles' grass macro).  In fact, I think 
that's the only way to get a radiosity image to be spread over multiple 
machines without ending up with bands in the output image.

You'll only get yourself into trouble if you use POV-Ray to alter your 
actual image (i.e. use POV-Ray to "post-process" your actual image [to add 
blur, gamma correct, etc.])

But anyway, I can't possibly see that as being a problem.  I'm planning on 
doing that as well.
