Adding to this, I would hazard a guess that the memory requirements for
pov-primitives are pretty insignificant (i.e. making a new one doesn't generally
use more memory than using a pointer).
There would probably be some mileage to be gained if complex csg objects were
handled like meshes, and a pointer to the whole csg object could be supplied,
but meshes are the obvious candidate for this treatment.
