	I used The Gimp (http://www.gimp.org/). The important setting here
is the "subsampling" parameter which defaults to 2x2,1x1,1x1 (worst
quality for drawings but nearly no visible difference on photographs)
and should be set to 1x1,1x1,1x1 for drawings.
