In the latest version, which I really like so far, I've raised the
ambient-value for the rose's textures, so that it'll glow a little with
radiosity. Point with the new sunset was the backlighting, I needed to get
the details back and wanted to highlight the rose somewhat, and I've found
that raising the ambient-value (for this scene at least) also provided
somewhat more contrast.

As for jelly beans, I think Freud would say that you're actually seeing
jelly beans because you want them, right here, right now! Go get some! :-)
