That is why I did post a large description in my post of may 20.
I really tried to describe it in such a way that everybody
could understand them. If that is not good enough, tell me
and I will try again.
Short answers:
- polymorphism: variant of genes that occur in the general population
and are though to be non-lethal.
- connexin: a protein. six of them (hence the hexagon) combine in the
cel membrane to form half a channel. They match to another group
of six in the neighbouring cel to form a channel that connects the
interior of both cells.

I will try to find images. I am mostly finding abstracts now without
images.
