I now put together how to create basic stereo image pairs with POVRay here:
http://www.cip.physik.uni-muenchen.de/~wwieser/render/stereo/create.html
This is meant to be an understandable site explaining how to set up stereo
cameras. If anybody finds any mistakes or has some improvements, let me
know (wwi### [at] gmxde; no HTML mail :).
But my actual problem still remains: Isn't there a (well-known?) way to
apply additional image/camera corrections for e.g. cross-eyed view where
the eyes look at the image plane under a considerable angle. (I mean: the
eye direction vectors are not normal to the projection plane. IMO this
introduces disortion which could be compensated somehow.)
Regards,
Wolfgang
