Ah yes, then it's indeed more than merely a particle system.

My system doesn't really have that many features. I gave up many things
basically to accomplish two goals:

1) Ease of use. My system is very user-friendly and the limited amount
of features has an influence on that.

2) Subset-framing and looping animations. This excluded a lot of
features actually, but I just like looping animations a lot... Besides,
I later earned good money on a task that required exactly this feature
of my particle system... :)
