I think you're right. It's funny how much cropping can change the
feeling of an image. In all the three versions posted I've already
cropped away the whole left side of the image, exactly to strengthen
that feeling you mention. I've attached the image in it's actual form as
rendered with POV-Ray, before cropping and post-processing.
However, I'm not sure how to handle the top part getting cropped. While
it will indeed add to the feeling you mention, it will also put the
hole/eye vertically in the center of the image instead of just below it,
and this will disturb the composition quite a lot I think. The only
potential solution I can see is to move the hole in the egg slightly
downwards. Maybe I will try that out... Thanks for the suggestion. :)
