I just stumbled across the fact that glows can be used as lighting in radiosity-only
scenes!
In the attatched image, there are no light sources.. just glows (approx 120 in each
'string').
It does take quite a long time to render (approx 1 hour for this image on a 1Ghz
Athlon).

NOTE: I have post-processed this image to enhance the contrast, as glows can make the
whole
image appear washed out if they're too bright.
