Yes, it doesn't look quite right. The glass objects are defined as
complete spheres and the table slices them. A better approach
would be to create flat "bottoms" for the spherical paperweights
and put a very small space between them and the table surface.
I'll get around to doing that some day.

Didn't notice any shadow on the table.
