I have a 170 version and it works for 9.2.2 while build 173 chokes and 
dies exactly as has been previously described in this thread. The 9.2.2 
system is a dedicated imac with very limited extensions and none of 
those mentioned here (ram doubler, kalediscope etc.) The 10.1.5 is a Ti 
powerbook G4 with 512 ram. So... I bugged it.

In summary, is this correct?

170 screwed up templates for 10.1.5
173 no joy at all for 9.2.2 carbon lib 1.6 but OK 10.1.5
abyss is a bad file (too bad it wasn't zebra.pov)
