Peculiar. Maybe there's some sort of coincident surface somewhere? Make sure
the top of the sphere doesn't touch the surface of the water, and make sure
the camera isn't touching the edge of any object...

Are you using 3.5 beta (er, release candidate)? I wouldn't be overly
surprised if this were a bug. It just looks too regular and yet incorrect...
like some variable isn't being reset or something internally. I dunno.
