During WWII someone came up with a great way to make runways fast to build, and
repair. They used a material called Marsten Matting,
which locked together with some little difficulty, and was then welded in place. If a
bomb, or bombs, hit the runway, the
appropriate sections could be removed, the hole filled in, and the sections replaced.
Airfields were built in record time, due to
this material. U.S. Steel!
This stuff is still in use, which is a testimony to its usefullness.
There is nothing special, Pov-wise, with this object. Its just another object for my
aviation themes. A very necessary object...
