you missed the point
pov is still distributed as it is now for free, and separate commercial
versions are created to integrate with commercial packages that cost a
fortune anyhow.
if you can afford max/Maya (etc) then you can certainly afford the dedicated
pov plug-in, the rest of us will just have to continue doing what we're
doing right now
