No, no, it copies the selected area, but *after* copying the lines
above the copied lines are marked.
Write the following into the POV-Ray-editor (* lines are selected):

3 *
4 *

6
7
8
9
10
Hold Ctrl and drag'n'drop the selected lines with the mouse to the
begin of the 9th line. Now you see the following:

2
3
4
5
6 *
7 *
8 *
2 <--- these lines
3 <--- are copied but
4 <--- not marked
9
10
The lines 6 to 8 are marked, not the copied lines!
