Here is the jumpin hairpin scene, in case I can get some help... I have
translated the mais file (jumping hairpin.pov) into English (rather shabby
English, I'm afraid...).

I used Megapov 0.7 to render the sequence, and the movement looks fairily
smooth with 30 frames.

The method I devised can be used to make any oblong objects "walk"
(cylinders, pencils, fishing rods... well, you get the picture).

Please let me know if you have any good ideas on how to improve the
movement.
