I've heard before that the file size limit in these groups is 1MB *after*
encoding, but that seems not to be the case after all?

Because of my slow connection I never download those large animations anyway
except when I can tell from the comments that they're really extraordinary.
I hope everybody tries to keep the file sizes as small as possible.
