  Piracy seems to be so common that this doesn't even come to their minds
when they ask the question. They just assume that also you use pirated
programs as naturally as they do.
  In my opinion those kind of people are a big bunch of losers (sorry if
I offended anyone, but that's just my opinion).

  When someone asks me this question in real life, I always answer in the
same way: "Well, give me the money and I'll buy the program and start using
it." That's usually enough to shut them up.

  And besides, POV-Ray *IS* better than many of those expensive programs.
