It WAS rendered with photons.  That's why you can see the flares of light
near the glasses on the desktop.

I debated the cigar finish a long time.  Different cigars have different
wrappers and some of mine have a shiny finish while others are matte.  I
felt the wrapper does look odd through. The "leaf" just doesn't come across
right.
