What was the 'right' value for your camera?
Was it the same in both renders?

If it was, that may have been your problem.
The value given to 'right' in the camera definition help Povray figure out
what the perspective of the image is (is perspective the correct word to use
here?). So if you're rendering at 1024x768, your right should be x*4/3,
while a render at 1024x1024 shoudl have a right of just x.

Hope that helps (and I hope I didn't mess that up).
