No, those are not meant to be hot gaseous glowing emanations specifically.
They're just textures, and I don't know exactly what they're supposed to be,
but I thought it looked good. :)

I don't know what a wisp of flaming sulfur fume looks like...
Any hints? Or better, any net images?
