Hi all,

This is my first serious effort with POV, though I've used other (more
expensive!) packages in the past. There are many details lacking (for
example, the white box between the beer taps and the cooler will
eventually be a cash register). Still, I'm interested in some general
feedback, as I've been staring at it long enough that I can hardly see
it anymore.

BTW, there will eventually be a tie-in for the irtc loneliness
competition (if I have time). I intend to have a figure seated at the
bar in the extreme foreground, and another standing behind the bar in
the distance. I need a definite separation between foreground and
background, which is my motivation for both the perspective and the use
of focal blur.

One other thing I want to add is atmospheric media to get the hazy
effect of cigarette smoke. However, focal blur + radiosity + photons +
media + 200MHz pentium = death wish. I'd like to replace the computer,
but I don't think that will happen in time for the irtc deadline... The
attached image, which does include a few photons, took six hours to
render on the old clunker. I'd be willing to accept render times of a
couple of days for the full-resolution image for submission.

The idea of human figures presents a problem, too. I'm a linux-head AND
I'm poor, so Poser doesn't seem like a realistic option. On the other
hand, I can purchase Poser 4 for $120 (US), which seems like a good
price. Are there any linux users here who have tried poser with wine?

Thanks for your comments--Maybe I'll post another image once I get some
more detailed modeling done.
