I didn't have much time lately, but here's a new version
of the mesh-lathe I wrote a macro for. The Spline
uses Control-Nodes (which lie on spline) and
Direction-Nodes (one for each Control-Node), which
are indicated with the red cones. The blue line is the
resulting Sphere-Cylinder-CSG (another Macro of mine).

This spline is calculated at 20 intervals, which are rotated
one turn in, again, 20 intervals, resulting in a 20x20-Grid.
The resulting mesh is to the left. Then, using a macro
to calculate normals on a 2D-Array-Mesh-Field (results
indicated with the bunch of red cones at the top), these
normals are applied to the original mesh and are used
for a smooth-triangle-mesh, which is to be seen to the
right.
