This image was made with POV-Ray v3.5 beta.

And the shape shown is formed by one single
iso-surface.

The rotation of the sphere spirals are now
increasing exponentially as they move away
from the equator lines towards each of the
two poles.

So the centreline of each spiral should
now be the result of a mapping of loga-
rithmic spiral, on a plane right below the
sphere, mapped onto a Riemann sphere.
There are 4 such spirals.

As you can see, I stole Ib Rasmussen's idea
of having the shadow of the north pole fall
at the inside of one of the bands. Here are
