This problem has been addressed several times in
povray.beta-test.

Several of the people that have access to the source
code of POV-Ray 3.5 have successfully managed to compile
and run it. I think Warp is one of them. But right now,
the Team lacks a Linux/Unix specialist that could properly
test the binary and create the install scripts, etc.

Thorsten Froehlich is a Mac specialist. So there's a
Mac beta. Chris Cason is a Windows specialist. So
there's a Windows beta.

Nobody can work on the Linux version, so no release
date can be announced. And besides, the POV-Team
never announces release dates.

Go read povray.beta-test.
