I just had to comment on an IMAX film I checked out yesterday. Looked like a pile of
people with a lot of computers and very little
story telling skills got together to experiment with rendering a 3D Movie called "The
Haunted Castle". While everyone else is
watching the nifty 3D effects and trying to grap the floating tree branches in front
of them I am looking at the anti-aliasing
problems and the God awful glitches in the rendering, like lots of jitter between
frames and resolution problems. A very nifty
flick if you have an IMAX theatre around and you love computer generated animations [
hence the posting ].
Check out

bandwidth.

The best rendered part of the movie seemed to be the main room with a fireplace. The
flames were not cyclic but the base upon which
the mother sang from jittered along its edges, a lot.
Has anyone else seen this flick and better yet, been able to render a room animation
like it?
