I assumed he was being ironic sans smileys - maybe not. BTW I assume you
mean jpg, not gif (gif isn't lossy, except in the sense of being only 256
colours - a gif opened and repeatedly re-saved doesn't degrade, a jpg
does*).

* something I wish I'd known three years ago.
