I hope I don't give my friends the impression that I'm wasting your
time, by indirectly asking advice (posting anims) and ignoring half of
it. I view this development as sort of occuring in two stages. First I
make a working system for accepting parameters, THEN will I fine tune
the parameters. For example, the need for a forward-leaning torso and a
heel that raises up required new variables, new construction. I
suspected that stair climbing too would require some new construction,
but it actually didn't, and went ahead and posted an unpolished version
because I was amazed it was even doable (by me).

Consider this like the development of Poser when the programmer first
gasped "Eureka" that keyframing of a walk cycle was even possible.

I'm keeping all of your advice in mind and will work on the polishing of
movement when I've conquered the "construction" problems. Perhaps there
are no more in the legs. I may consider IK of the hands or a wider
range of expression for the face.
