AFAIK, no. It would only work only if the new image doesn't include areas of the
scene invisible in the original image.
First level radiosity samples are only taken at points hit by the camera (or
reflected/transmitted) rays, so for the rest of the scene radiosity information
would be isufficient. Of course there should usually be a fair amount of samples
generated during secondary bounces, which can be reused to speed up the process.
