I have rendered massive meshes before without problem but they were
obviously well behaved and written properly. As I said sometimes
something gets messed up during the translation efforts and you
end up with millions of degenerate triangles that POV-Ray silently
and dutifully removes for you. I am fairly certain that in your
case file size had nothing to do with it.
