Nice plant!
In my opinion, the dirt looks too much like chocolate. I've seen darker
soils (almost black) and lighter soil, but not this chocolate colour. Hmmm
chocolate. Try adding some crand.
As for the soft shadows, like Josh mentioned, you need more area lights.
The jpeg artifacts didn't help here either.
