I think a lot of the 25 hr cost was due to the radiosity which seems to have
had subtle benefits, but were not worth the time expenditure at this point.
But once I'd had it running overnight, I was loath to stop it.
Type 3 was used for the emitting media in each sparkly bit, and type 3 was
used for the scattering media in the transparent cone surrounding the spiral
glassy object.
As a test case, I'm happy with it. I've learnt a lot and can now take this
and use elements towards another image.
