"Still" is a german word for a kind of silence but also a description
for an object that is not moving. A "Stilleben" is a kind of picture
which only holds nonmoving objects. Typical are a bowl of fruits, a
bottle or flowers.
My dictionary translates "Stilleben" as still life and Webster's
dictionary supports this ...
