Wow! Very cool! And funny!

I imagine the source is actually quite short; an isosurface for the dunes
and a trace-part that places those ... chinese madmen. And still so
artistically impressive! I mean, it's a simple, yet original concept. One
can stare at this image and wonder such things as:

What are they thinking?
What are they looking at?
How did they get there? Why?
Where is it?

I really like images with messages like this. :-)

Can I have a guess at the sand? An isosurface with e.g. a plane as a base
function, then a largely scaled, slightly turbulenced marble pigment
function added, and then yet a marble added with different orientation
and/or turbulence?
