  Endless reflections

While experimenting a little bit more with the shape that was used
in my last posting "Two spheres" I rendered this image.

I was surprised by the strange patterns created by the "endless"
reflections.

I used a little bit too much light in the scene and because of this the
image "bleached" a bit.

So instead of doing the 15h rendering again, I just cheated and did
a gamma correction. =|

I see that also this image could use some softening of the shadow,
but I have not had time yet to try this out.

A question:

Does anyone know if there is any way to make the light reflecting
from surfaces to fade as it is travelling to the next surface?

(I think that if this is possible, it could also help preventing the
image
from "bleaching".)
