Just add the sphere back with 'union' afterward then.
Meshes aren't my cup of (Utah) tea  :-)
If you have MegaPov there's a chance of using new features on that mesh though.
Looking at the Mesh section of the html documentation didn't convince me CSG
would be a sure thing either though.
