No, I made my own gears with some simple loops inside prisms. I like to make my own
stuff when at all possible, that's just the way I am :-)

Yes, I do that all the time, like LEGO pieces on the inside of the model. Also, that
way you can show any view of any section at any angle and it will still be
realistic. I don't do this very much, but also it is good to have detail behind the
camera in case it is reflected.
Work is going veeery slow, so don't hold your breath...
