No, probably not.  It's just that the code got shuffled around a lot
when I tried to make your stuff work with 3.1a, so any other changes
to the same area would lead to lots of merge conflicts.  In any case,
it looks like Nathan got it to work in MegaPOV, so it must not have
been as hard as I was telling myself it would be.
