I've got a bad connection regardless of my upgraded V.90 modem. I use
AOL and I *should* be getting a 56K/V90 hookup at their end. Nope, 26.4K
the sign-on speed shows. I get up to 28K+ sometimes at a good web site
apparently but these newsgroups slow me down to those 0.1K numbers too.
The connection rate will get to 10's of K when good.
OT posting here but maybe someone should start a subject about the
connection (u/l and d/l) speeds at p.g. so as to figure possible
improvements, or at least to gripe or boast about our modems ;)
