Ha ha! Oh boy... you got me laughing inwardly here.
I was thinking of it being a crown holder or some such, too small for
that (if you follow the jewel sizes accordingly). Then I thought ring or
other such jewelry. Except it would be difficult to outclass the box
itself.
Unusual texture there for the structure. First corroding gold in the
universe perhaps?
