All these values are relative to the size of objects in your scene.

The density for shooting photons is set by the "density" keyword in
the photons section of each object.  This is the distance between
photons.  If your object is 100x100 in size (cross section perpendicular
to the vector pointing from light to object), and you use a density
of 1, you will get 100x100 = 10000 photons.  On the other hand, if
your object is only 1x1, you may wish to use a density of .01, which
will give you 10000 photons in that situation.

The "radius" keyword is for gathering.  If your density shot is .02, and
it gets focused to about .01, then you'd want a raidus of around .05, so
you can gather about 25 photons (.05/.01 = 5,  5x5 = 25 photons in a
.05 x .05 square).

I'll have some better tips and demo scenes in the next release.
