Okay, got it re-done and uploaded to my web space:

case anyone attempts a re-write]
It now has the closest match, so far, to the actual coppery color I
mentioned before, and the dial is whiter too. Although, have to admit, I
haven't really looked at the real watch since I started this re-make).
Basically the same picture besides, used radiosity just to see how it
would go. Above all else the dial image_map needs to be much higher
resolution, there's a tendency to seem out of focus. It was a 300x300
image and it should probably be twice that.
