Hmmm... I compiled it 'out-of-the-box' with VC5 with no problems.  Well, I did
get that black line in the message window, but that's not a really big deal.
No problems related to comctrl32.lib, though (at least it compiled and ran...
I didn't test all of dialog boxes yet).
