Dat's ok.  Only a little skiing available here so he may not have come 
anyway.  And too much danger from the wildlife.  Spiders: Funnelwebs and 
Redbacks;  We've more poisonous snakes than you can poke a stick at (so to 
speak): Death Adders, Taipans, Red-bellied blacks, the Western Fierce Snake 
and the Brown snakes;  And we have critters that'll keep you standing in the 
heat on a 40 Deg.C day, ie., Crocodiles in our rivers that eat you whole and 
shit your shoes out a month later and thoroughly deadly marine life you 
don't want to meet on a swim: box jellyfish, stonefish, blue-ringed octopi, 
and the odd white-pointer.

Oh, and watch out for the drop-bears!

It's a wonder any of us survive past childhood really.

safety catch be enough?

Which again defeats the purpose of a home defence weapon. If it's not

Ah of course, my apologies. In theory you should read the MSM and then the  
independent press and make up your own mind. In theory you shouldn't have  
to bother and the press should simply present what happened without adding  
their own 'take' on matters.

Can't recall the source for this, but I read a story regarding a  
journalist sent out to report on a murdered women found in a wood. Halfway  
there he was called back, turned out she was black.

I know, I know. I spent 18 months in Sydney, living at the Cross. The local wild
life was truly horrendous. Especially around the time of the G & L parade. :)
I also worked at Taronga Zoo for a short while. Guess the stories I was told.
There was a Huntsman spider waiting for me outside my apartment door once. About
the size of a baby's fist, it gave me the collywobbles.
