You didn't find it odd that I first say "starts slow..." and the I say
"in the next one you don't have to wait at all"?

Sounds awful. "Wonder Kid" guitar playing always does to me. Don't know
if it's something to do with the setup of the guitar for a kid's low
hand strength.

I suspect light strings and loooow action don't allow for much variation
in volume or stroke. I find a lot of the classical fingerstyle vids on
youtube impressive for a few seconds, but get bored *very* quickly.

Don't get me wrong, the kid is amazing. Just not something I can listen
to for about a minute.

Might sound a little more like this when he grows up:

Though that's a bit noisy for my tastes. I prefer:

Check out Doc's left hand strength.

Closer to what the kid's going for?

Just because it's a favorite.

His dad's song, but an acoustic version for consistency.

The thing I can't figure out is that the sound doesn't appear to match
what his hands are doing. (Presumably this is due to an optical illusion
rather than because the video is faked.) Notes change without him moving
his fingers, and the notes seem to play faster than he plucks the strings.

...and then there's this, where you can't even *see* how the notes are
generated. Pretty crazy though, eh?

Youtube videos are not always in sync with the sound, if you haven't
noticed. Probably has something to do with flash.

pull-offs, hammer-ons, bends, and slides.

The second video I posted in this thread shows how notes can be changed
with the left hand. Takes a good amount of hand strength, as does the
clear sound produced by shortening the notes with the left hand (by
letting up on the strings).

Here it is again.
