Getting real annoyed with the "spam filter" here. Is there a way to set 
the bloody thing so that all email received from a group of senders is 
"accepted", without hitting the filter, like "*@*mysite.com"? Nearly all 
the email I get is non-spam, and it tends to come from Linden Labs 
message system, but some of them are getting marked as spam, even when 
they have the same subject, like "City of Lost Angels - The Vanguard". 
Its damned annoying to have one get through, then a second, just because 
it has a few flag words in it that the filter spots, get tossed in the 
spam bin. :(

Tools->Message Filters.
Add a new one, then set

"From contains mysite.com"

Perform action:
Set junk status to Not Junk.

Take the opportunity to filter it into its own folder, too. :-)

Uh.. Thanks. And here I thought I would try something "silly" like doing 
what "every online system" and other clients do, and just add 
"*lindenlab.com" to my address book or a "these are OK" list. :p But, 
yeah. Need to look at that. It would be so much easier though if it let 
me do what the others do, and mark something as a "group" mailing, 
without using a) mailing lists (sorry, this isn't how those groups 
work), or b) let me use an email address that isn't in the x@y.z format, 
which doesn't work in this case.

Personally, I think its a glaring omission, given the number of Yahoo 
Groups, SL group mail, and other similar "everything from this place is 
valid" stuff you have around today. You are not longer mass mailing such 
groups, using usenet for them all the time, or looking for one clear and 
"specific" address. :(

You can do that. There's a checkbox to say "people in my address book never 
send spam."  I don't think you can wildcard the addresses in your address book.

Maybe there's a way to whitelist specific addresses.

Yes. For mailing lists, I set "if it's to or cc the mailing list, or it's 
from the mailing list, then whitelist it."  Note that you have a "contains" 
option, so you can see if it "contains @yadda.com" for example.

I also usually sign up for things with different email addresses, so my 
erlang mailing list subscription is to dnew+erl### [at] sanrrcom which makes it 
easy to filter.

There's no obvious whitelist other than that or marking them as "not junk" 
until you've trained the filter it isn't junk.

Yeah, I know. Problem is that a) yes, it refuses to wildcard it, and b) 
I can't be sure that it is "always" going to be the same address. In 
fact, I am fairly sure its not. The originating addresses from linden 
are like <group/object name>@<URI key>.lindenlab.com, or something like 
that. So, every different object or group is likely to have a 
"different" email address, with the only "common" source being the 
"lindenlab" part. Needless to say, that makes Thunderbird's absolute 
refusal to allow such wildcard addresses a pain in the fracking ass. lol

So does having no way to use one, as a "accept anything from this 
domain" type setting, imho. Oddly, if you create a "mailing list", it 
will quite happily "create" such an entry, via the "add this person" 
system in that dialog, it just won't work at all. :(

No. "From contains lindenlab.com" should do the trick. You don't need to 
wildcard the whole address. You'll occasionally get spam from 
spa### [at] franklindenlabcomcouk or something, but it'll be rare. ;-)
