I've only had food poisoning once, but it was the worst sickness I've had in
my life. I laid in bed for 12 hours thinking that I was dying, and then
after about 24 hours, it was completely gone. After my 12 hours of dying
were up, my wife ended up with the same symptoms. My only consolation was
that, "The worst will be over in 12 hours..."
The night before, we had decided that we wanted enchiladas. We wanted them
REALLY BAD. But I checked with 2 grocery stores in town, and no sauce.
Then I found some sauce a little hole-in-the-wall place... I guess I forgot
to check the expiry date, but we never knew for certain.

So somebody else handled my double quarter-pounder? I didn't have any
problem with that, and they're cooked longer then the regular burger
patties.

No, not Tim, probably the servers. I've also seen them pick fries off
the counter and putting them in a bag before now. :(

I've been exceedingly lucky in this regard. I eat out much more than I
would like to admit (and often at sleazy joints), but never had
problems. An occasional diarrhea, but that's it. I should stop while I'm
ahead...

Interesting... I am almost 30 years old, and I have never, on any
occasion, ever had food poisoning in my life. I've caught various bugs
and viruses and been ill for a while, but I've never eaten tainted food.
And I eat out all the time!
But then, as I understand it, in the UK if somebody complains that they
got food poisoning while eating at X, what happens is that X gets shut
down while a bunch of government inspectors crawl over it with a
microscope, and if they don't like what they find, it doesn't reopen...

We can have Tim send you some *stuff* so that you can expand on your

Reminds me of something I read on Bash.org recently...
[Some guy describing in vivid detail the results of taking some nasty
medication. And he tells us how horrid it was, and some guy replies
"that dude has just lived more than all of us put together!"]
Personally, I don't see how being miserable counts as "living". By that
metric, I've lived a lot!
