I meant it humorously, the assumption that America means the USA and not  
the continent in the same context that the United States also means  
America and not Mexico.

That's basically all I do, except replace the G&T with V&T.  I drink it 
soley for taste, not effect.  I make Margarita Sours for Woman, but it's not 
very often now.  You can keep Tequila and Cointreau in the freezer and 
because of their high Alc. content, they don't freeze, even at -15 C, though 
there'll be a rime of ice on the outside of the bottle.

And of course you knew my other post was a joke and you merely felt like 
sharing.

Vodka has a taste? I thought vodka was what you spiked the punch with at

Yes vodka has a taste, try it straight up, straight from the freezer.
Also there are varieties of vodka flavoured with herbs. It is subtle, though.

Gin on the other hand is a girlies drink <ducks and runs very fast :)>

Then why did my wife make a face when she tried a sip of my G&T? :D It 
takes a real man to appreciate the resinous flavor of Gin :D

You can get some extraordinary vodkas from scandinavia and eastern 
europe that have distinct smooth flavours. They're often very strong, 
too, but I find this has no effect on taste.

Ethanol is not very tasty. :-/

Whether considered flavoured or not, I use Smirnoff.   That's it.  Adds some 
sharpish bitterness back to the tonic water, which too often is muffled by 
being sweetened, a stupid manufacturer's practice that masks the whole point 
of quinine's own dry bitter-sweetness.

Food and bev manufacturers of all kinds need a bloody good bust around the 
chops, because it seems almost all of them refuse to sell any food to you 
without first dousing it in sugar (or artificial substitutes) and/or fat.

But they're remarkably honest and virtuous when making pet food.
